Qualis : Quality of Life Improvement Society
I am Deepa Mathur with an
entrepreneurial dream in mind, I established an export house called MDRD
Exports way bqck in the year 2002. The company's primary business was to
manufacture ready-made clothes and home furnishing, primarily in the handlooms fabric.
Working with several artisans and
craftsmen from all over Rajasthan bought me close to the harsh realities of the
lives these people led specially the women who are the back bone of the
handloom and handicraft industry. This
experience strongly drove me to establish the NGO QUALIS “Quality Of Life
Improvement Society” in the year 2008.
Today I stand proud to have grown QUALIS
into an organization that is associated with over 1500 artisan and 1000 weaver
women who are regularly benefitted by the efforts of QUALIS. Qualis Regularly
Organise skill Devlepment & Traning Sessions for BPL Wome to generate
self-income .The NGO has works extensivelyfor the 'Kota Doria' cluster of
Kaithun, Rajasthan the NGO is actively pushing formation of women SHGs (Self
Help Groups) in areas of Kaithun, Ramgunj, Mansrovar, and kota. We carry
awareness campaigns against child marriage. We do Periodically Health Checkup
and Blood Donation Camp for underprivileged women and girls from the society.
We work for the revival of the
dying crafts. Recently we are reviving the embroidery craft of the women of sanke
- charmer Community and we have renamed it as Fan-Kari, where Fan is the hood
of the snake and kari has been picked up from the word Karigar.
The organization works for a
school for the artisan community children and helps this children get
scholarship for their education and arrange for them vocational classes and
health camps for them. Through the school, the organization directly helps
around 1400 children in shaping their dreams!
I have been able to go beyond
national boundaries and showcase QUALIS on international platforms. The
organization has tied up with several international bodies (University of Texas
(USA), American Institute of Indian Studies, HAPSA (USA) etc.) and, thus, has
regularly been home to many volunteers and interns from abroad. Today I have
also establishes a company called Studio Fair Trade Which is the marketing
initiative of QUALIS.
I am fully dedicated to the
operations of the NGO and is well known among the circle of people associated
with QUALIS. Qualis has brought us around thirty awards till now on the state
level .And the most prestigious one came on March 8th from the Government of
India. I won a national Award Nari Shakti 2016 from the president of India.
I firmly believe in the words of
Mahatma Gandhi, who said "Be the change you want to see in the
world".
